Islanda Bentota Seafood Restaurant is the place where you can find every kind of fresh seafood dishes with the best quality and taste which recently moved to a new location, National Holiday Resort, Bentota – one of the first major initiatives in Sri Lanka’s Tourism history.
Talking about the new location, Bentota National Holiday Resort was set up on 19th December 1969 under the total state patronage for the betterment of International and domestic tourism in Sri Lanka. The building was designed by respected local architect Geoffery Bawa. He was among the most influential Asian architects of his generation. He is the principal force behind what is today known globally as ”tropical modernism”. This building model reflects the old Parliament building structure, another masterpiece of his designs. All the tourist facilities were provided at this Resort which has stretched approximately to an extent of 100 acres and it was opened to maintain services for the foreign and local tourists.
Even today Bentota National Holiday Resort is considered as a prominent model resort which displays the Glory of Planned Tourism. This plaque was established on 19th December 2009 by the Ministry of Tourism in Association with Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority as National Tourism Organization in recognition of its valuable contribution throughout 40 years towards the Tourism Industry and Sri Lankan nation.

Best restaurant in Bentota
Wonderful staff who prepared for us dishes for the child, as she used to, and of course the freshest fish, shrimp, lobster and other types of fish, with a unique taste. Everything was done professionally, the restaurant is clean and beautiful, there are palm trees around, pleasant music, I didn’t want to leave.
